The VDIC is an open reference library and an information center. Everyone is welcome to use the reference library - no membership card or fee is required. However, library materials are for reading, or photocopying in the center. They may not be borrowed. See Library Policies for instructions and rules.
The VDIC library is not a research library. It provides access to current literature, reports and statistics, future plans, economic and sectoral research and studies on development work in Vietnam. The material, in the formats of printed publications, CD-ROMs and videotapes, represents the ongoing work of all partners, statistical reports and studies from all government agencies, as well as selected background information and more general studies on the immediate region prepared by other donors or agencies and donated to the library by the partners. Please find the major types of material from VDIC library below:
Main collection: (searchable from our library catalog E-PIC; EPIC search guides). More than 5,000 reference materials are kept in our library, including books, CD-ROMs, dictionaries, encyclopedias, yearbooks, handbooks, statistical materials and some annual reports from the World Bank group.
Partnership files: materials produced by WB partners such as Poverty Task Force, Consultative Group Meeting, Vietnam Business Forum. (searchable from our library catalog E-PIC; EPIC search guides).
WB projects in Vietnam: reports and information about WB-funded projects in Vietnam (some full-text are also available online).
WB files: includes WB guidelines on procedures to work with WB projects.
Periodicals: some magazines and journals related to development issues published in Vietnam and overseas.
International organizations and NGOs, bilateral donors: introductions about these organizations and their activities and research in Vietnam.
Miscellaneous material: information leaflets, free publications for distribution, articles, newsletters from World Bank and other development organizations in Vietnam.
Friends of Vietnam Heritage collection: VDIC hosts this collection of books about Vietnam’s culture, arts and history.
